トヨタは、『クラウンセダン』にクラウン誕生70周年を記念した特別仕様車「Z”THE 70th”」と、クラウン専門店「THE CROWN」専用の特別仕様車「Z“THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL”」を、6月2日より発売すると発表した。
『クラウンセダン』の特別仕様車のパワートレーンは、HEV（ハイブリッド車）と、FCEV（燃料電池車）を設定。価格は、特別仕様車「Z“THE 70th”」のハイブリッド車が755万円で、燃料電池車が855万円。「THE CROWN」専用の特別仕様車「Z “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL”」のハイブリッド車が810万円で、燃料電池車が910万円となっている。
特別仕様車「Z“THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL”」
クラウン専門店「THE CROWN」専用の特別仕様車「Z“THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL”」は、専用外鈑色「マットメタル」を設定。マットブラック塗装を施した20インチアルミホイール（245/45ZR20タイヤ＆20×8.5J）、ボディ最表面にマット塗装の手入れを楽にする「特殊表面処理（TMコート）」を採用している。
内装では、特別内装色「ブラックラスター」を設定。インストルメントパネル・センターコンソール・ドアトリム部分の杢目調パネルのブラック化やディンプル加工を施したステアリング・シフトノブの採用、インストルメントパネルに「THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL」専用のレーザー加飾の刻印、Z“THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL”専用のクラウン専用キー、マニュアルケースを装備している。
特別仕様車「Z”THE 70th”」
特別仕様車「Z”THE 70th”」は、特別仕様車のみのメーカーオプションとして「日本の風景との調和」を表現したバイトーンのボディカラー「プレシャスメタル×プレシャスホワイトパール」「プレシャスメタル×プレシャスブラックパール」を設定。マットブラック塗装を施した20インチアルミホイール（245/45ZR20タイヤ＆20×8.5J）や「THE 70th」ロゴをあしらった専用のサイドデカール（特別仕様車のみのメーカーオプション）を採用している。
